Caught my first trout today with a fly on the troll on Carra, a half pounder which we returned. The lake was teeming with duck fly, conditions were very calm, and thus difficult for fishing.

Ate the first trout of the year, a 1 1/4 pounder from Lough Carra, on Tuesday evening. The fish was in great condition, with lovely clear flanks and a grey-green colouring on the back.
